Summary:



The Director of Community Engagement will serve in a critical support role to the Corps Officers and a major leadership role within the Brownsville Corps. They will be intimately and integrally involved in the ministry of Corps, including teaching, leading and preaching the Gospel Message. The Director of Community Engagement should remain teachable and possess a passion to further the cause of Christ.



The Director of Community Engagement will oversee all aspects of the Brownsville Corps Community Center Ministry while also involved in Corps Administration, Youth Ministries, Media Ministries & Community Relations.



The ideal candidate should be an individual preparing for entrance to the College for Officer’s Training.


Requirements:

Qualifications:




  • An Uniformed Salvationist in good standing, who must soldier at the Brooklyn Brownsville Corps

  • Must uphold Biblical standards in personal and professional life, including fiscal support of the Corps Ministry

  • A High School Diploma with at least six years of successful experience as an assistant director of a Community Center, Program Director, or leader in a recreational program, a group work program, or closely related field OR an Associate’s Degree with at least four years of experience as noted above OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Recreation or equivalent experience with at least two years of experience as noted above

  • Strong communication and organizational skills. Should possess those qualities of heart, mind, and character that apply to all those working intimately with people.

  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity and at least 5 years of experience with the Red Kettle Campaign

  • Valid Driver’s License required, with a willingness and ability to drive a 12-Passenger Van
