Principal Functions



The Kids F.E.A.S.T. and Summer with RJ Coordinator will provide oversight to the development and day-to-day operations of the Kids F.E.A.S.T. (Food, Enrichment, Arts, Spiritual Development, and Teaching) after-School program and Summer with RJ Summer Day Camp.



Duties and Responsibilities




  1. Coordinate the schedules of education center spaces including the classrooms, computer lab, teen center and library/information center during the hours the programs are in operation.

  2. Coordinate program schedules with center managers and venue coordinators throughout the center  including the Aquatics Manager, Recreation Coordinator, Fitness Coordinator, Food Service Manager, Arts Coordinator and Corps Officers.

  3. Develop and maintain program application packet.  Track and file appropriate application material for each participant in the program in keeping with licensure standards and applicable laws.

  4. Assist and direct program participants in moving about the facility to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiency

  5. Schedule, direct, and guide all public, private, and in-house activities pertaining to the programs.

  6. Schedule and evaluate and directly supervise Kids F.E.A.S.T. and Summer with RJ staff; ensure all personnel have completed the necessary paperwork (job application, W-4, information sheet, I-9, etc.) prior to beginning work.

  7. Ensure that events and activities begin and end on time.

  8. Supervise and oversee the day-to-day operations of the program.

  9. Operate within the program budget.

  10. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.

  11. Attend all scheduled staff meetings and management team meetings as requested.

  12. Supply information as required for grant proposals including statistics, program narratives and other pertinent information.

  13. Ensure and document that standards are met according to grants received and other forms of collaborative partnership according to signed agreements and/or contracts.

  14. Establish working objectives for volunteers that will assist in the Kids F.E.A.S.T. program.  Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator on the scheduling and specific duties for volunteers.  Report any concerns or issues regarding volunteers to the Volunteer Coordinator.

  15. Ensure an adequate reserve of program supplies; conduct regular inventory of all equipment and supplies.

  16. Ensure daily reports, participation statistics, bi-weekly payroll reports, financial transactions, lost and found items, annual reports, budget and annual area goals and objectives are reviewed and completed according to agreed upon timeline.

  17. Assist in the writing and maintaining of job descriptions as requested.

  18. Work in cooperation with the Kroc Human Resources Manager to process all personnel hire, status changes, terminations and evaluations promptly.

  19. Process all evaluations (probationary and annual) in a timely manner.

  20. Maintain clear channels of communication with staff, volunteers and program participants.  This will include the writing of internal memos, schedules, flyers, website & social networking content, newsletters and one-on-one discussions.

  21. See that all injuries for those under your program whether employee, volunteer, visitor, or spectator report all injuries in a timely manner and according to procedure. Immediately rectify and/or report any potentially unsafe conditions

  22. Provide regular reporting verbally and in presentation format on all of the above activities.

  23. Ensure a safe, enjoyable and professional operation by supporting and enforcing the rules and regulations of the RJKCCC.

  24. Work in a professional manner with other managers of the RJKCCC program.

  25. Represent The Salvation Army’s spiritual and social mission

  26. Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Education Requirements



Must have a bachelor’s degree in a field related to education.



Work Experience   




  • Must have three (3) to five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in education

  • Classroom teaching experience is preferred



Other Qualifications




  • Must have at least three years experience in developing, planning, and managing an education program.

  • Must have or be able to acquire within the first 30 days of employment a First Aid & CPR certification.

  • Experience supervising staff consisting of individuals with varying experience, competency and cultural backgrounds.

  • Excellent computer skills and competency with software such as Microsoft Office Applications and/or appropriate desktop applications and hardware such as computers, printers, projectors and smart boards.

  • Must have the ability to work and relate well with people.

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

  • Have a philosophy of education and child development, which is consistent with that of The Salvation Army.

  • Must be available to work week nights until 6:30pm.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
