TITLE: Anti-Human Trafficking Case Manager
DEPARTMENT: Social Ministries
REPORTS TO: Anti-Human Trafficking Coordinator
SUPERVISES: Social work interns. End Slavery Cincinnati Fellows. Street Outreach and Drop in Center volunteers and other interns.
SCHEDULE: Full Time. Must be able to respond 24/7 to human trafficking emergencies and must be willing to conduct overnight street outreach.
FUNCTION: The Anti-Human Trafficking Case Manager (AHTCM) plays a key role in The Salvation Army’s Anti-Human Trafficking response by providing 24-hour emergency response and comprehensive case management to assist human trafficking survivors with exiting trafficking, stabilizing and healing from trauma. The AHTCM conducts outreach to trafficked persons and provides support to survivors through The Well, The Salvation Army’s drop in center for women trafficked in the sex industry.
Provide emergency response and long term comprehensive care for victims of sex and labor trafficking, to include:
o Serving as initial point of contact and emergency responder for victim services at The Salvation Army.Providing 24 hour emergency response and comprehensive case management for victims of sex and labor trafficking.
o Assessment of the immediate needs and safety of the caller.
o Coordination with law enforcement to ensure the victim’s safe removal from the trafficking situation.
o Utilization of Salvation Army and other resources to ensure that the victim’s immediate needs are met, including safe temporary housing, clothing, food, medical care and mental health care.
o Development of a safety plan and a service plan in coordination with the victim.
o Provision of shelter-based/home-based case management to help the client achieve the goals outlined in the service plan. Although plans will vary based on individual needs, these activities may include but are not limited to permanent housing, legal assistance, working with law enforcement, ESOL, employment, counseling, linkage to benefits.
o Linking survivor with resources for ongoing care.
o Maintenance of accurate and timely case notes.
o Timely completion of reports.
Provide Task Supervision for a team of Social Work interns and End Slavery Cincinnati Fellows.
Street Outreach Program Duties
o Conduct weekly street outreach, between the hours of 10:00 pm and 1:00 am.
o Respond to the immediate needs of survivors encountered on the streets, including but not limited to helping survivors to safe housing, transporting survivors to detox, transporting survivors to emergency medical care and meeting other needs as identified.
Drop in Program Duties
o Assist in outreach to potential participants of the support group/drop in center.
o Provide support services to women in the Drop in Program.
o Assist in the facilitation of support and therapy groups.
Attend law enforcement busts.
Participate in the Ohio Human Trafficking Commission and any other state or local anti-trafficking meetings as requested by supervisor.
Attend End Slavery Cincinnati meetings.
Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
