The Salvation Army Kids’ Club is a state-licensed, school-age child care program located at 258 Chestnut Street in Chelsea, MA.

Preference will be given to candidates with ANY of the following qualifications:


● Bilingual in Spanish and English


● Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree Program

● Has a Bachelor’s Degree

● Has at least three college credits in Early Childhood Education or a related field

Work hours are 2:00pm-6:00pm (depending on need) during the school-year and 8:00am-5:30pm (this may vary slightly, but will still be 8 hours with a half hour unpaid lunch) during school breaks and summer vacation.

Duties include, but are not limited to, supervising and engaging with children in Kindergarten through age 12, planning and implementing enriching activities, helping with homework, and using positive behavior management techniques.

Minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:

Must be at least 18 years of age and have one of the following sets of requirements:

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree; and have three months of experience working with school age children; or

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have six months of experience working with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program; or

  • Have nine months of experience with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program.
