General Summary:

The Assistant Program Director will assist the Program Director with the overall operations of the after-school program. They will be responsible to manage the program in adherence to the New York State School-Age Child Care regulations, as well as government contracts.   They will be responsible to monitor and support staff and implement student curriculum activities.




  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of college with 18 credits in child development, elementary education, physical education or related field OR Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience

  • Experience in Youth Work or Camp Experience

  • Minimum of one year administrative and/or supervisory experience

  • Must have at least 2 years of direct experience working with children (ages 5-13) and youths (ages 14-18)

  • Ability to assume responsibilities of Program Director, in their absence

  • Current CPR & First Aid Certifications

  • Ability to originate, update, and/or monitor health care, maintain records, and implement the health care plan

  • Available to work part-time hours on School Days and full-time hours on Non-School Days (School Holidays & Summer)
