Position: Client Support Technician (2 positions available)

Department: Information Technology

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Typically M-F; 8:30AM-4:00PM

Occasional overtime may be needed to include evenings and/or weekends. Some travel required.

Reporting Relationship: Directly to Director of Information Technology

Salary/Grade: 77 Nonexempt

Description of Position: This is a helpdesk position providing hardware and software support for on site and remote clients (telephone and desk side). Install, configure, troubleshoot, modify and maintain client’s workstations. Assists with writing down phone messages, creating helpdesk tickets, obtaining answers, and returning calls as requested. Troubleshoot and resolve computer, and network related problems. Maintain and log documentation of all current and completed service requests. Provide basic training for new clients. Assist the department director with special projects as needed. May be asked to travel to various worksites to provide technical support, set up computers, etc. Performs related duties as assigned.



Requirements: High school diploma or GED (some college coursework completed strongly preferred). Must have at least three years prior work experience in help desk support or customer service position (or equivalent combination of education and work experience). Must have A+ certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment). Must be familiar with Lotus Notes (or Microsoft Outlook) and Microsoft Office Applications. Prior experience with Apple/Macintosh hardware and software is a plus. Valid driver’s license required. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary. Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. It is essential to support The Salvation Army by having an understanding and appreciation of The Salvation Army mission.
