TITLE: Bridging the Gap (BTG) Program Director



POSITION AVAILABLE DATE: Immediate



DEPARTMENT: Social Services



REPORTS TO: Corps Officers



SALARY GRADE: 10 STATUS: Exempt SCHEDULE: Full Time



DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:



The Director is responsible for the overall implementation and management of the BTG Program. The Director will work with other Salvation Army staff to ensure that necessary financial and human resources are available to sustain and grow the program. The Director will engage in a process of continuous improvement to ensure the best possible program outcomes are achieved. The performance of the program will be measured against goals and stated outcomes.



 



Some regular responsibilities include teaching, developing community volunteer and financial resources, public speaking engagements to raise awareness of the program, interaction with students and their families as well as local government leaders and internal staff and volunteers.



Though exact work hours have not yet been set, although it is known that it is not a “9-5” position. Rather there will be some regularly scheduled evening hours required in order to conduct classes.


Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:



BA/BS degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in Education, Sociology, Psychology, Ministry or related field



teaching certificate is a plus



Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable



Documented experience working with children & adolescents



Proven organizational and interpersonal skills



Excellent verbal and written communication skills



Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)



Valid PA driver’s license or the ability to obtain one



Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army
