Overview:
Serves as a liaison with Corps and Area Services personnel (Officers and bookkeepers) concerning all facets of accounting, reporting, budgeting, and auditing.
I. Corps Accounting Services
Execute, supervise and coordinate the accounting support function, maintenance of financial reports from units, and summarization of financial condition of all operating units under the SWONEKY Command in management reports for presentation to administrative personnel; including, but not limited to, the following:
a. Serve as liaison to all Corps Officers in answering inquiries concerning
accounting reporting and problems in general, as well as interaction with
other DHQ accounting personnel as necessary. Inform and instruct the
Corps Officers and bookkeepers on new procedures and policies as
adopted.
b. Supervision of Corps Accounting support staff, including the ongoing
expansion of the Centralized accounting system throughout the Division.
c. Coordinate the maintenance of a Crops Reports Due Log to track
weekly/monthly remittances, budgets, monthly reports and other
required reports.
d. Review of monthly financial reports for inaccuracies, irregularities,
unusual trends or extraordinary circumstances. Assist with any
necessary corrections. Any concerns to be reported to the Financial
Secretary.
e. Assist in the preparation of fiscal year financial activity summaries for
operating units to be included with Territorial Consolidation and
Territorial Annual Command Review.
f. Prepare financial statements (in lieu of independent audits) and work
papers for the Corps as needed.
g. Preparation of monthly financial activity summaries for presentation to
the Divisional Fiscal Review Team.
II. Budgeting Function
a. Coordinate the maintenance of the Budget status log to record date
received and related comments for Budgets, both proposed and revised.
b. Review the budgets submitted from all operating units. Subsequently,
reflect endorsement for approval or recommendations of further actions
required.
III. Auditing Function
a. Schedule audits and auditors being especially sensitive to the various
Corps and Divisional schedules. If schedule permits, each Corps to be
scheduled within a mine month period since the previous audit. The
schedule should be reviewed by the Financial Secretary prior to
distribution to the auditing staff.
b. At least two auditors should be scheduled for each unit. It is understood
that larger Corps will require greater assistance. The "lead auditor" must
be prepared to review with the Corps Officer the financial condition of
the Corps with discussion of any concerns/observations.
c. Coordinate communication with Officers and bookkeepers of the desired
schedule.
d. When the audit date has been established, officially correspond the
agreed date as well as the request completion and organization of certain
required analysis materials.
e. Coordinate the production and/or accumulate the preliminary audit work
with the various finance department staff.
f. During the audit, provide specific assignments.
g. Following the audit, immediately prepare the audit package, including
Management Observation Report for review by the Financial Secretary.
h. Provide training as needed or requested for the Divisional audit staff.
i. Maintain the Audit Status Report for monthly review by the Financial
Secretary.
IV. Other Assignments
a. Perform any other duties as assigned or requested by the Divisional
Finance Secretary.

| Requirements: |
a. Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Accounting or equivalent in
experience
b. Proficient knowledge of accounting, spreadsheet and Word processing
software
c. Knowledge of Salvation Army accounting and auditing systems
d. Analytical Ability
e. Self motivated
