Principle Functions: The main functions of the Security Guard are to provide and maintain a safe and secure environment for all of RJKCCC staff, members and guests. The Security Guard will also be responsible for providing maintenance support.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Attend Weekly and scheduled meetings. 2. To make scheduled ‘Rounds’ of the interior and exterior of the facility. 3. Check in/out members or guests as they enter and leave the facility. 4. To periodically inspect serviceability of firefighting equipment and Fire Tenders. 5. Respond to calls of disturbances throughout the building and property. 6. Observe, intervene and defuse situations as trained 7. Assist Facilities Team Members with maintenance responsibilities when required by the Facility and Security Manager. 8. Ensure a safe, enjoyable and professional operation by supporting and enforcing the rules and regulations of the RJKCCC. 9. Flexibility and a cooperative spirit are crucial characteristics of the individual who holds this important position. 10. Ensure Guest safety – immediately rectify and/or report any potentially unsafe conditions. 11. Work in a cooperative manner with the other on-site managers of the RJKCCC. 12. Work with other staff to develop innovative service programs that enhance the experience of center members. 13. Report all injuries in a timely manner and according to procedure. 14. Perform other duties as assigned and more appropriately defined in the operations manual. 15. Must attend and complete child safety training as facilitated by the Salvation Army. 16. Must have or be able to acquire within the first 30 days of employment a First Aid & CPR certification. 17. To represent The Salvation Army’s spiritual and social mission


Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Work Experience: Prefer at least 1 year of experience in the security/law enforcement field. Other Qualifications: • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task • Detail oriented and attention to detail • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure • Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self- directed schedule • Ability to observe and defuse situations as necessary • Must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing English. • Experience in utilizing security equipment (Cameras, metal detectors, etc).
