Principal Functions: The Rock Wall and Ropes Course Attendant is responsible for overseeing members and guests as they participate in climbing programs. This position will be primarily responsible for ensuring the equipment safety, user safety, cleanliness, and exemplary customer service of these areas Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintain all public and restricted areas in a neat and clean fashion 2. Generate legible and accurate accident and incident reports as required 3. Ensure that events and activities begin and end on time 4. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures. 5. Project a friendly, customer-service oriented attitude. 6. Monitor Rock Wall Climbing and Ropes Course Area to ensure a safe and clean environment. 7. Create and maintain an inviting and fun environment for the community at large. 8. Ensure all members and guests follow established safety rules and methods for using the rock climbing wall. 9. Provide members and guests with basic climbing equipment orientations and use. 10. Provide proper instruction for climbing methods and safety. 11. Monitor Fitness/Gym areas for any safety problems and promptly report any problems/concerns to the Recreation and Fitness Coordinator or other designated supervisor. 12. Follow all written and oral communications and instructions from the Recreation and Fitness Coordinator or other designated supervisor. 13. Assist children with self-care (assisting children in the restrooms) as required. 14. Assist in the supervision of children while using safety measures. 15. Attend all scheduled staff meetings as required. 16. Ensure a safe, enjoyable and professional operation by supporting and enforcing the rules and regulations of the RJKCCC. 17. Assist in daily reports for the program. 18. See that all injuries for those under your program whether employee, volunteer, visitor, or spectator report all injuries in a timely manner and according to procedure. 19. Must attend and complete child safety training as facilitated by the Salvation Army. 20. Perform other duties as assigned and more appropriately defined in the operations manual. 21. Requirements:

Education Requirements: High School or GED Work Experience: This position requires an enthusiastic, positive attitude with experience in customer service, facility cleanliness, and practical sense. Prefer some experience with rock climbing, sports, and/or outdoor recreation. Other Qualifications: • Must have or be able to acquire within the first 30 days of employment a First Aid & CPR certification. • Must have the ability to work and relate well with people. • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. • Must be available to work week nights • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
